I had also taught Aerobics for about 20 years and stopped about 6 years ago when my little brother passed from cancer.
Over the years I cannot count how many women have asked for the secret to getting a flatter stomach real for a host of reasons such as a high school reunion coming up or a wedding or Christmas party.
So my goal is to share with you real secrets to getting your stomach flat and hard within the shortest amount of time possible.
Secret #1
I call this one steel cable over marshmallow. You can do tons of sit ups and crunches till you puke but if you do not lose the fat covering your lovely ab muscles then you will still look fat and flabby. You can have all of the bullet proof abs in the world that could actually stop a real bullet but they still will not look like much if you do not take the flab covering them off your body.
Secret # 2
Everything in proportion. This goes with secret #1. You have to take the fat off so how do you do that rapidly? With a good weight loss diet and cardio. Yes. That is what I stated. Diet and Cardio (aerobics) exercise are the ways to getting a flat stomach real fast. Never mind all of those fake promises that if you buy this machine or do this exercise you will get 6 pack abs overnight. Hog wash!
A good diet will cut the fat from your body and if you do aerobics with it, you will lose it even faster. Here is the clencher. Your body doesn't spot reduce, so you will lose fat from all over your body not just your stomach. I lose it in my lower legs first then face and the last place is actually my stomach which is the first place that I put it on. Sorry. That is nature.
So diet and cardio vascular (aerobics) exercise is crucial. Here is the simple formula. Calories in vs Calories out. Take in less calories and burn off any excess plus a little bit more and you will lose weight. I have tried to just sit at home and diet without aerobic exercise to lose weight fast and it does not work! This is from a professional personal trainer. It does not work fast! In fact it is the slowest way to go.
Your body goes into a famine state and begins to conserve calories and it makes you even more tired than you have ever felt before. It is way more effective to eat a good healthy weight loss diet and exercise along with it.
Secret # 3
You must do ab exercises. I've tried those only do 8 rep wonder exercises and I adapted too quickly I guess. They didn't work well for me. I was trained on the aerobic floors doing ab work and that is where myself and my clients have always found their best results. My clients get flat stomachs real fast.
So you need to get back to the old methods that do work which means doing ab work for at least 4 minutes with varying types of repetitions. That means don't just lay down and do straight crunches but vary the speed and tempo's and style of those crunches just like you would get in a aerobics class ab workout segment.
